What can you buy with an Xbox gift card?
Games, add-ons, Game Pass and more: what an Xbox card pays for, and what it does not.
An Xbox gift card adds money to your Microsoft account. That balance can be spent in the Microsoft Store on Xbox consoles, on Windows PCs and on the web.
What you can pay for
- Digital Xbox games and add-ons.
- In-game currency sold in the Microsoft Store.
- Xbox Game Pass memberships, when billed through your Microsoft account.
- Many apps and films in the Microsoft Store.
What to check
- The card region must match your Microsoft account country.
- Some subscriptions need a payment method on file for automatic renewal. Your balance is used first when it covers the price.
- Physical products from the online Microsoft Store may not accept gift card balance in every country.
How to redeem
- Go to the redeem page of the Microsoft Store or open the Store on your console.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Enter the 25-character code and confirm.
Your Microsoft account balance is shared between Xbox and Windows, so one card covers both.
