Keep your Steam account and wallet safe
Steam Guard, trade warnings and other settings that protect your wallet balance.
Steam accounts are often targeted because they hold games, items and wallet funds. Steam Guard is the most important protection.
- Turn on the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator in the Steam app.
- Use a unique password.
- Never sign in through links sent in chat. Open Steam yourself.
- Check your authorised devices in your Steam account settings.
- Be careful with 'trade offers' from strangers.
- Steam staff will never ask for your password or codes in chat.
Your wallet balance cannot be withdrawn as cash. Anyone who says otherwise is not from Steam.
