How to redeem a Nintendo eShop card on Switch

Step by step: add a Nintendo eShop code to your Nintendo Account on the console or on the website.

A Nintendo eShop card adds funds to your Nintendo Account. You can use the funds for games, DLC and Nintendo Switch Online.

On the console

1. Open Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu.
2. Select the account you want to use.
3. Choose Enter Code in the menu on the left.
4. Type the 16-character code and confirm.

On the website

Sign in to the Nintendo eShop website for your country, open the option to redeem a code, and enter it. The funds are linked to your Nintendo Account, so they appear on the console too.

If the code is refused

• Check that the card region matches your Nintendo Account country.
• Make sure you typed letters and numbers correctly: the code has no spaces.
• Check that your account has not reached its maximum balance.

Nintendo eShop funds belong to your Nintendo Account, not to one console. Sign in with the same account on a new console to use them.
