Fake redeem pages: how to spot a phishing site
Scammers copy the look of official redeem pages to steal codes and passwords. Here is how to tell them apart.
A fake redeem page looks like the real one, but it sends your code or password to a scammer. They are often shared in ads, messages and comments.
Warning signs
- The web address is not the brand's official domain, or has extra words and numbers.
- You reached it from a message, an ad or a video description.
- It asks for your password before you enter the code.
- It promises a bonus if you enter your code there.
Stay safe
- Type the brand's address yourself, or use its official app.
- Check the address bar before you enter anything.
- Never enter your code on a page someone sent you.
If you entered a code on a fake page, change your password now and contact the brand's support.
